Americans Supported the Troops In Vietnam?
On this day, on March 29, 1973, the last American troops left South Vietnam. America’s military was enthusiastically embraced and honoured for their heroism and acts of bravery by their fellow countrymen. The troops came home to a roaring heroes welcome.

Oops. Did you miss that part of the Vietnam War story? If so, then you are not alone. For reasons unknown this fact has been omitted from the history books, the school books and from most of the mainstream media’s coverage, which as you will see turned out to be very selective. History has been re-written. Why? Perhaps it is because by 1973 the anti-Vietnam sentiment took a firm hold on America, and that view became the “truth” with the help of Americans like President Obama’s “family friend” William Ayers, the unrepentant Weather Underground terrorist/anti-Vietnam war activist who is now a distinguished professor in Chicago.
However, Bill Ayers’ and the anti-Vietnam war movement’s version of events does not tell the full story.
According to Robert D. McFaddien reporting in the New York Times, for example, on April 1, 1973:
“Bands thundered, bagpipes skirted, forests of American flags waved wildly, and large sidewalk crowds roared their approval yesterday as tens of thousands of marchers paraded up Broadway in an outpouring of tribute to the men who served the nation in Southeast Asia during the war in Vietnam.”
Did you miss that coverage welcoming home the troops?
There is more. Below is a link to a video I received from a member of the Gathering of Eagles. The GOE is the largest pro-troop group in America who tirelessly and proudly supports the men and women serving in uniform. This video shows throngs of Americans supporting the military during the Vietnam War in what was apparently the third largest parade in America’s history. The beginning of the video addresses the culpability of the media during the Vietnam War.
To see pro-GI parades on May 13, 1967 and March 31, 1973 that you may not have known about, advance the clip to approximately 27:20.
Welcome home.
