The DREAM Act? What About the Crime and Corruption at America’s Immigration Agencies?

Since I first began reporting on the crime and corruption at America’s immigration agencies, where federal officials were found to be taking bribes, be it for cash, sex, gifts, or jewelry in exchange for legal documents, the criminal activity continues.

President Obama Votes Present on Immigration Reform

Last Thursday President Obama acknowledged during his speech on comprehensive immigration reform that under Washington’s failed leadership legal immigration had become a fallacy, as we have been reporting here and here.
As the President stated, “More fundamentally, the presence of so many illegal immigrants makes a mockery of all those who are going through the process of immigrating legally. Indeed, after years of patchwork fixes and ill-conceived revisions, the legal immigration system is as broken as the borders.”
That’s right. The legal immigration system has grown into a boondoggle. For over …

You’ve Got Mail: America’s Broken Immigration Agency at Work

Under a bombardment of condemnation, Arizona has taken action to address illegal immigration and is fighting back by telling Washington to “do your job.” Meanwhile, on Sunday President Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder said that the Justice Department was “considering” a federal lawsuit against Arizona’s new immigration law.

How did the immigration crisis occur? It happened because Washington didn’t do their job and secure the borders — and because under both Republican and Democratic leadership, the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS), formerly the Immigration Naturalization Services (INS), ran amok. …

Go Illegal? Legal Immigration versus Illegal Immigration and Amnesty

[Note: Yesterday, the House of Representatives passed the DREAM ACT]
Last week President Obama met with Sen. Chuck Schumer D-N.Y. and Sen. Lindsey Graham R- S.C. to discuss passing comprehensive immigration reform. What is known is that a path to citizenship for illegal aliens is part of their plan but what is unknown is how “reform” affects legal immigration.
Using the “Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009” (CIR-ASAP), introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez D-Ill last December with the backing of 92 house Democrats as a barometer …

Tea Parties Against Amnesty

While it is no secret that America’s immigration system is broken, and this longstanding system breakdown adversely affects America’s national security and economy, the latest Rasmussen Report shows, “By a 70% to 22% margin, voters say that gaining control of the borders is more important than legalizing the status of undocumented workers already in the country.”

Judith Miller reports on the corruption within and the dire consequences to national security.

Last year, FBI officials tell me, the Bureau worked on nearly 2,500 public corruption cases and convicted more than 700 dishonest public servants throughout the nation. Most of them were unrelated to the cartels, and Special Agent Abbott, of the FBI’s criminal branch in El Paso, says that only 15 to 30 of his region’s cases so far have involved drug-related corruption among law enforcement officials. “But given the damage that can be done by just one …

U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Blasts Journalist over Crime & Corruption Story: Journalist Fires Back

He claimed that my “article served no other functional purpose other than to tarnish the honorable reputation of our employees and associate the entire USCIS workforce with criminals.” He also claimed that my article was full of “errors” and “inaccuracies,” however he did not cite the errors, or the alleged “inaccuracies.”

Crime and Corruption at the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services

As immigrant rights activists demand immigration reform from the Obama administration, it is critical to acknowledge that concrete reform cannot be achieved as long as the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) is riddled with corruption and criminal abuse.
Crime and corruption at the USCIS formerly the Immigration and Nationalization Services, (INS) is the dirty secret few politicians dare mention within their vaulted rhetoric calling for urgent immigration reform that never materializes. Thus far, their hollow words and legislative tinkering over the last 20 years produced few results except costing …
